Over the past week or so, I have noticed significant discrepancies in the number of Direct Connect servers that are appearing online. When I run DC Search (available here) or DC++ (available here), both programs report the number of online hubs to be approx. 300 (the “official” release of Direct Connect doesn’t give a discrete count of the total # of hubs online, but it appears to be in this order). However, when I go to NeoModus’ page on Network Statistics (here), it reports the number as being in the range of 750+, and typically >1000.
Also, correspondingly, the number of users reported between sources vary wildly. Whatever the exact numbers, something is definitely fishy here. What the #@$# is going on??
