—————————————–
- X-Gnutella-Content URNs included in upload replies and download requests.
- BearShare preferencing, ie. last host slot is reserved for a bear.
- Listen-IP implemented in handshake headers.
- Push hosts appear in “Unreachable” status in the Downloads pane when BearShare does not know its own IP address yet and would be unable to accept incoming Gives (Push responses)
- “Version” columns in Search and Download panels now show values that are updated with information that we gather from the host while attempting downloads.
- Resuming downloads in beta 10 are non-backwards-compatible with other BS 2.5 betas, but are backwards-compatible with BS 2.4.X

BearShare 2.5.0 Beta 9
———————————————
- on exit, an error when writing one of the db files will not prevent the other files from getting written
- Host cache remembers the ip reported by the socket and the port in the pong message.
- Implemented authorized host for incoming and outgoing connections.
- 10 connections are attempted at once when acquiring hosts regardless of maxHosts
- attempted IP addresses are marked stale on first use
- host cache is consulted whenever there are no fresh IP addresses
- host caches rotate between the various entries in the Service Setup when they fail to deliver unique pongs for any reason
- stale IP addresses are tried for up to 5 minutes if no service providers provide unique pongs
- IP addresses are saved across launches in connect.dat
- Downloads now resume properly even if BearShare crashes. This fixes the last known bug regarding downloads getting stuck in the “Waiting” state.
- Resuming downloads are not backwards-compatible from beta 8 to beta 9 (finish downloads in older betas before upgrading)
- Changed meaning of number in bottom center of Downloads pane. Now it means “Download ___ files at once”, which is what it meant in BearShare 2.4.X. To configure Streams Per Download and Total Streams, use the new Setup configuration dialog box.
- New swarming stream options in the Setup for Downloads
Get ___ files at a time
With up to ___ connections per file
And up to ___ connections total
- New stream statistics in lower-right corner of Downloads pane
- Gracefully attenuate excess streams during re-request on a Keep-Alive connection if the user decreased the number of desired streams after the connections were established.
- Same file with different name from the same host is now detected as duplicate and not considered as a different source for the file.
