According to a press release that I was recently handed, AudioFind is now one of the newest places to purchase your MP3 files online from. What sets this site apart however, is that it is the first Russian online music store to start legal sales of digital downloads.
They have already begun to offer some 160,000 MP3 tracks for purchase with the number expected to rise to 300,000 by the end of July.
Tracks are offered at the amazingly low price of 8.99 rubles, or 33 cents USD, which is, of course, much much cheaper than its iTunes rival of 99 cents, or 3 rubles
)
Now a quick search of 2 artists netted poor results, but since the site is still up and coming I’ll give it them the benefit of the doubt that their selection will improve as time goes by. Also, just the simple fact that they are at last providing a legal alternative to iTunes at a substantially reduced price certainly gives it a thumbs up in my book.
I performed a quick search of the artist “Beck” and received the results pictured below. The only artists returned were “Roxanne Beck” and “Paul Eugene Beck,” neither of which belong to the artist of “Loser” fame that I know of. Does Beck have a first name?

Yet, the present still does hold promise for those willing to do a little bit of searching on their own as it still lists a large number of other artists that are currently available for purchase. As pictured, they are numbered by genre on the homepage and there are in fact quite a few of them. Exactly who some of them are is unbeknownst to me, but perhaps it is owed to more of a gap in my “musical taste library” than it is to gap in the selection available. Either way their offerings can only grow, that is if the RIAA can stomach cheaper downloads than iTunes. Didn’t they complain that 99 cents wasn’t enough a while back?

One can only hope that the RIAA realizes that 33 cents a song is still money in their pocket as compared to Russian sites like AllofMP3 where their take is zip, zero, zilch, nada. Some rubles are better than no rubles at all right?
If anything the RIAA may fall in love with AudioFind for their mission statement alone. For according to the press release I’m looking at it’s as follows:
The AudioFind.Ru mission – to help creating a civilized society that is truly built on justice and responsible attitude to other’s businesses.
You know the RIAA is just going to eat that sort of stuff up, thus perhaps ensuring they help AudioFind augment the tracks it’s able to make available.

What format are the songs in? The site doesn’t say. Is it a customer-friendly format like MP3 or OGG or is this another RIAA scam with DRM (like iTunes)?
I just uploaded a flac album to allofmp3.com so ill be getting credit to download more tracks.. 4cents a meg upload..and thats double or 4times as much if i download 192kbs album.
I didn’t realize you can get credit if you upload to allofmp3.com thats a interesting feature. I’ll have to check it out. I have tons of indy artists that would love that!
as the article states “They have already begun to offer some 160000 MP3 tracks for purchase with the number expected to rise to 300000 by the end of July.”
Heres the file.. Key things to know. Only upload WAV files or flac and it must be something thats not on the site.. ALbum artist. And you need to let them know if you plan on doing it in the tech support if the file doesnt start transmitting.

I did a bonus disc called Felt Moutain.. Artist should be known =) SO look on the site ever so often to see it posted.
Intersting Shawners didnt know that one could do that. The only question I have is why spend all that time uploading an album especially in WAV format (what 300+MB) to get credit for stuff you could just as easily get if not more easily from OINK and at a much faster rate since incorporates BT technology to DL stuff? Do they have a greater selection? Though dont know how thats poissible when stacked up against OINK.
Well the thing about it as much as I love oink. Sometimes you dont want to download things and take a ratio hit or you cant find it. I dont download .ogg files but this site has it. I was doing it way before oink so my credits never ended. I have 7.42 and dont know after the album i uploaded. Theres things that people requested and i look at allofmp3.com for it and download and filled it at oink. So they go hand in hand. I like to think i have a big part in http://www.allofmp3.com bon jovi collection =)
I havent downloaded anything from it in ages so if something appeared i jump for it. THey have the current countries top 20 list greatest 500 albums popular downloads new music added daily. I mostly go for UK singles or bonus tracks.
Hmm interesting. My OINk ratio has become a source of concern lately and filling “user requests” is a pain in the ass to get your ratio up. Might have to conisder Allof MP23 as a complementary source to the ol’ OINKster.
“According to a press release that I was recently handed…”
Never believe anything in a press release unless you can verify it.
oh come on tom I put out press releases all the time and everything I say about slyck.com is true
Current balance: $16.38
Latest payment $8.64
So my balance went up 8.64 cents since uploading a bonus disc in flac. .So i can download roughly 6-7disc in 192kbs. Its a bargain.
