Sharman Networks, located in Australia, purchased Kazaa/FastTrack in January of 2002. Who is Sharman and why would they buy a company that is under major legal scrutiny?

Sharmannetworks.com is registered by a guy named Phil Morle (he is out of Australia). The domain was registered about 1 month ago.

He has his own website morle.com.. Within that website he proudly links to an article in a Sydney newspaper..
creations.morle.com
He is interviewed and listed as a Senior web developer for Brilliant Digital Entertainment.

Further research into Brilliant Digital shows:

The CEO of Brilliant Digital, Kevin Bermeister, helped close a deal worth $70 million that brought SEGA World to Sydney Australia. SEGA of course is the major video game company…Here a quote from Bermeister bio

“One of Mark Dyne’s and Kevin Bermeister’s most recent projects is the establishment of a $70 million interactive theme park in Darling Harbor in Sydney, Australia. This park combines the latest in multimedia, entertainment and destination attraction events. The theme park has been established through a joint venture company, the shareholders of which were Mark Dyne and Kevin Bermeister, through their investment company, Sega Enterprises Japan, Mitsubishi Corp. and Mitsui Corp. The major shareholders sold their interest in 1998 to an Australian group.” (taken from Here)

The CEO of Sharman Networks, Nikki Hemmings, was ALSO associated with SEGA world in Australia..

Brilliant Digital, listed on the AMEX under ticker symbol “BDE” has a market cap of only $2.47 million. How could they afford to buy Kazaa/FastTrack?

When we called Brilliant Digital in Los Angeles, we asked the receptionist for a comment about the purchase of Fasttrack/Kazaa, she said “No, that was Sharman.” When we said “aren’t you one and the same?” SHE HUNG UP. Coincidence?
