This was very very helpful in some sense but I still am confused. I'm a beginner to this whole Azureus thing. After reading your article I decided that I should try and download Azureus and give it a try. I'm a former Kazaa and Limewire user and I was totally confused about bittorrent. I downloaded Azureus followed your steps (I think I may have made a mistake) then went to a torrent site downloaded a torrent opend it up in my Azureus and began to download... when.. a blue smiley face came next to it and the file stopped downloading. I'm a wireless user (not dial up in case u were wondering..). Can you help me further? I really want to learn this whole Torrent thing.

Sounds like the tracker where the torrent was submitted too is is either timing out cause of a large amount of traffic or it is offline. That's why I stick to smaller tracker sites I hate running into tracker issues. But I wouldn't leave BT for gnutella! Why not use both anyways?

It states above which ports to pick will list here again for you.............

"Remember the range of reccomended ports to use is from 49512 to 65535 and the selected port must be forwarded if operating behind a router. As you can see in the picture I went ahead and used port 49512 and then TESTED it. Since it came back "OK!" I then APPLIED those settings. It's that easy."

For better connectability when using a PUBLIC SITE I reccomend using TORRENTSPY.com
