Will using something like mac-spoofing or changing your ip address help? I am on my 3rd strike with Time Warner Cable and they say by strike 5 they wi send my information to the local ;aw enforcement agency and suspend my internet access for 6 months. I love torrenting, I think it’s the best thing on the internet yet. If there is anything or any info you can provide to keep me iff the grid I’d greatly appreciate it.
Just to give you an idea of the steps I’ve taken, I use a mac address changer and about 5 out of 10 times I immediately transfer whatever I’ve downloaded to my TB External while deleting the BUP file or whatever file I can find that will associate me with sharing. PLEASE HELP!

even if you hadn’t said, i’d have guessed from your manner that you were probably an admin on a private tracker lol — in fact private trackers are not really part of the *file-sharing* community: they’re part of a *file-swopping* community — and their forums are filled with more moral bullshit than you’ll find in any press release from the RIAA or MPAA — most of them have a vicious pecking order characterised by ignorance and rudeness — and woe betide any new member who lacks servile sycophancy, and accidently transgresses their arcane shibboleths or queries their esoteric practices

YOu dont need private membership to anything unless you want personal rips. For that this is what oink pisexy.org shines on the most. I go through usenet and get daily movies. Great quality great speeds no ratios to keep. Yet joining these sites you can upload it to get a higher ratio. As well as download more personal movies. Usenet has personal rips you may download 1-2 gigs a day to the uploader uploads it all. Scene releases movies gets up instantly. Like 4.5 gigs in 4 hours or less.

Public sites may get you in big trouble. How many cease and desist letters go out daily on all the torrents these sites offer?

Private sites may also get you in big trouble but that remains an unknown at this time. Any closed group of pirates can get people in trouble bad trouble if the wrong people join.

for my money I would go with newsgroups….you can leech to your hearts content without stupid upload ratios and be relatively safe if you don’t post at all.

I dont think any private site had anyone get in trouble. Elite torrents went down nearly a year ago no uploaders/downloaders are facing charges. Its hard for any bad person to get in once the doors are locked and its invite only. My stats are hidden on pisexy other users cant see how much i upload or downloaded. Plus anyone can feel free to use proxies when connecting to a torrent. There is measures to keep your security.

ah Elite Torrents was radical man and to think it was all lost due to that stupid Star Wars 3 screener the real kick in the pants was that the movie sucked balls anyways……………and yes a “buddy” of mine was sort of sweating it for a while during the aftermath as they maintained a log of everything you downloaded a history function thankfully absent from most sites today but yes nothing ever happened to the “members” that Im aware of (knock on wood).

I think when it comes right down to it the nitty gritty if you will the cool thing about private sites is way all our compelled to seed their darn stuff and not just hit and run meaning brisk downloads for all.

Perfect example is OINK where you can easily find a popular album release with like 70 seeders and maybe 1 leecher. Talk about speed! Vroom vroom baby.
