YOu dont need private membership to anything unless you want personal rips. For that this is what oink pisexy.org shines on the most. I go through usenet and get daily movies. Great quality great speeds no ratios to keep. Yet joining these sites you can upload it to get a higher ratio. As well as download more personal movies. Usenet has personal rips you may download 1-2 gigs a day to the uploader uploads it all. Scene releases movies gets up instantly. Like 4.5 gigs in 4 hours or less.

Public sites may get you in big trouble. How many cease and desist letters go out daily on all the torrents these sites offer?

Private sites may also get you in big trouble but that remains an unknown at this time. Any closed group of pirates can get people in trouble bad trouble if the wrong people join.

for my money I would go with newsgroups….you can leech to your hearts content without stupid upload ratios and be relatively safe if you don’t post at all.

I dont think any private site had anyone get in trouble. Elite torrents went down nearly a year ago no uploaders/downloaders are facing charges. Its hard for any bad person to get in once the doors are locked and its invite only. My stats are hidden on pisexy other users cant see how much i upload or downloaded. Plus anyone can feel free to use proxies when connecting to a torrent. There is measures to keep your security.

ah Elite Torrents was radical man and to think it was all lost due to that stupid Star Wars 3 screener the real kick in the pants was that the movie sucked balls anyways……………and yes a “buddy” of mine was sort of sweating it for a while during the aftermath as they maintained a log of everything you downloaded a history function thankfully absent from most sites today but yes nothing ever happened to the “members” that Im aware of (knock on wood).

I think when it comes right down to it the nitty gritty if you will the cool thing about private sites is way all our compelled to seed their darn stuff and not just hit and run meaning brisk downloads for all.

Perfect example is OINK where you can easily find a popular album release with like 70 seeders and maybe 1 leecher. Talk about speed! Vroom vroom baby.

You are right but theres always a but people trade invites on web sites to people all the time. Slyck is really bad about this. There are people everyday swapping invites and Im sure the MPAA/RIAA has noticed this. There should be little question its only a matter of when they will take down the uploaders of copyright content as most people have signed up with an email that will lead a trail right to their front door even if the use a proxy 24/7. In my mind this type of filesharing is playing right into their hands as they will be able to identify the users who bring new content. I may be wrong and these private sites may be safe forever but how likely do you really think that is? Even groups that are well hidden get busted big time. Its only common sense to figure out that many people are being logged right now and that sooner or later lots of info will be siezed. I will shout this at the top of my lungs till the day comes because I want people to be aware of any risk and not be fooled into thinking private = safe. Its far worse. Its organized pirating on a massive level. Massive enough to attract other government groups. Take it for what its worth.

safety wasnt really the issue here thats a whole other topic for discussion the real point was to kind of break down the variety of BT download sites and kind of compare and contrast them for the new people the “NOOBS.”

Safety is in closed doors. Do you lock your house when your sleeping or when you leave? Do you let strangers borrow your lawnmore or your car do you let friends or family borrow your stuff?. There are no logs of anything rather then stats. No logs of what you download or upload for that matter. It is better to share within a confines of 50000 users rather then 5000000.. No one is foolish enough to hand a invite out to the first person that comes in. I had many ask and i just delete their message not enough post not been here while dont know them.. The sites im at the servers are off the USA. I checked it out. The domain is registered in the UK servers in canada upload/download stats of how much or how little are in the UK. People arent given invites as frequent as everyone thinks. And people who charish their community give it to people they known for along time and trust.. Public sites have 400 different agencies logging your IP address at any given time. BAYTSP MPAA RIAA BSA Phonographic institute FBI Software and computer makers alike have employed them. This is the way the real world works it has been done along time and its still going on. P2P networks are private community but anyone downloads the APP they can too join the private network and then they can find your ip operating systems location.. They can have the whole network logged on to one kazaa app or bearshare. mIRC has had private groups DC Warez darknets and now torrent communities. Should they go public? That would expose everyone in masses. There are torrent groups that have been around since the beginning of BT. Some knew that this day would come and made it a closed network. Pruning leechers giving invites to the power uploaders. Finding people with high speeds of upstream to put content on there. To tell you the truth theres very little im downloading from any groups since i can get it otherwise. I know there be more people in jail more people being sued if the ones on the private sites uploaded the stuff they rip to public sites.
Yeah elite ruined it since they gave just cause for FBI to enter the site. I remember seeing it on the homepage. So any visitor could see the star wars III movie was there. It was brought up in all search engines too. I guess they were daring them to come on.
Its safe to say that either way. You find your cease and desist letter more annoying when you were told by us to stop from using public sites. I Did get a warning for sharing a movie a long time ago when i got DSL. Stupid XOLOX app.
Ill ask you again mels. Which is safer to download a full 4.5 gig movie from TORRENTSPY or pisexy.org. One is closed and may only get 3-500 snatches and 200 seeders at a time.. to 50000 registered users. One may be behind a proxy slow upload speeds which keep you on the download for a long time for anyone to get your IP logged thousands of leechers and accessible to all? If you answer honestly your contradicting yourself. If you lie it will be shown and known. I would not feel right into sending any noob or person to a public torrent search arena. The reason they are there is to make examples of other people and to deter them.

Notice which ones may have been changed or added with craP?? you dont get that with private Bt. Notice at the end. 2005 that has a few files in it. ALl the vob files are 1gig or less.. Which is dvdshrink. .Scene groups dont do that. Its different size vob files and its been passed a few times. But on this movie i know for fact that the video is untouched. Tells you which groups quality size how many pieces and disc if its xvid. 90 minute movie is 1cd.
If you posted garbage like this on private sites they ban you cancel your upload privilages. Here in public arena your in for a treat of misguided files search tactics that last forever for that movie you want and lots of waiting. No rules no holds barred.

Who says public sites arent logging ip addresses or keeping logs of torrents being downloaded and uploaded.. They have trackers to they work like a private site. Oh yeah any torrent you upload has your IP address so the tracker can connect to you. THey download the torrent file and it announces to the TRACKER and then it connects to your ip address it knows your ip address since its marked on the torrent file itself.

good point err a points rather shawners……………the real pickle being that obviously proxy or not to connect to others via tracker your IP address sits out there for all to see thus PRIVATE DEFINED-MEMBERSHIP sites being a definte plus when it comes to anonymity…….its funny again to contemplate the real fallout of the whole Elite Torrents ordeal but it radically altered the BT community forever when you consider that it caused almost every site to rethink things and go either invite only or either and eliminate the ridiculous history function. I never cared to see what al I had downloaded and it always smacked of idiocy to have that sort of info readily available.

By the way I mentioned a site that has all things Howard STern for download and now I recognize that trading invites is not allowed but if anybody wishes more info and trust me YOU WILL BE PROPERLY VETTED PM me and I can give you more info about its location. For porn invites or something you know I’d make no such effort but being a big Stern fan I’d more than love to help a “brutha” out. Plus if all goes bad I still have my Sirius to fall back on.
