Microsoft Chairman
Bill Gates sketched out a vision for the future Wednesday in which a cell phone will become a “digital wallet,” able to receive e-mail and even scan business cards, while computers and TVs will merge.
Microsoft Corp., the world’s largest software maker, also wants to “redefine the way that citizens think about how they work with government and how efficient communication takes place,” Gates told about 300 political, business and academic leaders from Canada, Latin America and the United States at the company’s Government Leaders Forum.
The two-day event is intended to explore ways to improve government use of computers, as well as the transition to what Gates called the “knowledge economy.”

It would be nice if government set up a forum that could track popular issues and relay the info back to politicians for them to look into it but sadly the government isnt for the people any more. The only characters that speak to them are $$$$
yea the government is all about money and power now! i feel that they are getting to much power and pretty soon if things go there way they will be able todo anything they want with the patriot act wire tapping trying to monitor internet trying to get search results from search engines i feel that we are in for a great deal of trouble in the future if things dont change. they say its to protect us from terrorists but who are they to pick whose terrorists and whose not?! and for the people that wanna give them these powers remember this quote i dont remember who exactly said it but it was one of the great ones ” A person who gives up there freedom for temporary safety is a coward”!

I never thought of watching TV on my computer oh wait I stopped watching TV on my TV 6 years ago…a digital wallet it can receive emails? You mean like a palm pilot? Oh yeah I’ve had one of those for 6 years too.
