what the hell is going on at your house? Sounds crazy. Anyways if you do little bit of snooping around you can find a serial or keygen for the program so that you dont have to pay for it. A simple google search will lead you in the right direction.

you know if you have a file sharing network and a good free virus scanning program you can get nero from the file sharing program complete with keygen for nothing in other words free

why not just show people how to use http://www.foobar2000.org/ to convert their audio files its does pretty much every format. Mind you for mp3′s you need to download a file its still very simple.
