The Ipod is everywhere now, it’s even showing up in the weight room.
When it comes to maximizing his workout, Mike Johnston relies on his Ipod to get him motivated.
“I turn it all the way up, as loud as it will go, and get a good work out in.,” said Mike Johnston, an Ipod user.
But cranking up the volume may not be a good idea.
“You just don’t want to be using it at its full setting because it is going to be at a level that is, over time, going to be harmful to your hearing, said Dr. Nancy Huebler, an audiologist at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
If you have a hard time holding a conversation with your ear buds in, than your music is probably too loud.





well i think everyone knows that if you crank up your ipod to loud you would be acceptable to hearing loss. stupid post
WE_DELIVER you might want to try noise canceling headphones. I do not know if they would work for you.
Hearing is very serious issue. For anyone who lives in a family with deaf relatives you know how important it is to keep the volume low.
I usually listen to music while on my way to work via the Train and try to keep it quiet.. Funny thing is the ambient noise(especially when in the tunnel) is louder than the legal limit anyway. Chicago trains are loud as hell.
Do people really keep music coming in thru earbuds or ‘phones up THAT loud?
I would think it would be important to hear sounds in the weight room or around you in general for a safe workout.
