Is BitTorrent 30% of YOUR network traffic?

According to the BBC, 30% of Internet traffic is now accounted for by BitTorrent, the popular Peer-to-Peer software. Is the percentage so high on your corporate network?

As discussed the BBC article, BitTorrent traffic is increasingly being encrypted – largely to avoid ISP’s traffic shaping efforts, but also in an attempt to cover up any activities of dubious legality. This poses a problem on corporate networks – how do we prevent company resources being used improperly?

If you don’t want uTorrent or any unauthorized software being used on corporate desktops lock them down. It’s not that damn hard geez and if you don’t know how to do that Mr./Ms. Corporate IT person then you should just resign your friggin position right now and call my consulting company in to do the job.
