ISO Buster - A Quick Step Guide

posted by soulxtc in guides // 890 days 17 hours 17 minutes ago

For those that have either run out of blank CDs or DVDs, or are simply tired of burning those downloaded movie images, here's the guide for you. There's an excellent program out there called IsoBuster that will put an end to that incessant burning and allow you to watch movies on your own terms. First off, for those that are unfamiliar with what BIN/CUE or ISO files are, read the guide here at Zeroapid to bring you up to speed. It's important as each refers to the disc image that we will be "busting" or deconstructing and extracting the video from. We'll begin with "busting" BIN files first, with a guide on "ISOBusting," no pun intended, to follow.

Now download and install the IsoBuster program.

Now open the IsoBuster program and either "drag and drop" the BIN file into the media window on the left, or simply select the BIN file by using the FILE tab at the top.

The BIN file is now loaded and ready to be "busted."

Now select and "double-click" the MPEGAV folder. This is where the audio/video data is located.

This brings us to the audio/video data file itself, noted by the ".DAT" suffix as shown below in the picture.

The next step is to "Right-click" the AVSEQ01.DAT (audio/video sequence 1) and "Extract but FILTER only M2F2 MPEG frames." What this means is that the data, or ".DAT" file, will be filtered so that the audio/video stream, the MPEG, will remain.

Select the save path, or where you will actually "extract" the file to and press SAVE.

This will then begin the actual "extraction" process.

And "presto chango" will result in our newly created ".DAT" file.

You can then open this file to play in the media player of your own choosing. To ensure proper playback, that is that you have the proper CODECS to play the movie properly, you may want to take a look at the CODECS guide here at Zeroapid.
