Three days ago, during his visit to the city, Chinese superstar and action hero, Jackie Chan complained about the bane of piracy in the film industry all over the world.
On Friday, his lament was echoed by producer Firoz A Nadiadwala. "Piracy is a $ 8 billion industry," said Nadiadwala, adding, "It’s a menace that is eating into the profits of the film industry the world over." So Nadiadwala, whose film Deewane Huye Paagal released on Friday, hit upon the idea of "secret coding" every single print of the film, which boasts an impressive line-up of stars including Akshay Kumar, Rimmi Sen, Suneil Shetty, Paresh Rawal and Shahid Kapoor.
Nadiadwala put out 500 prints of the film in the market on Friday. And he borrowed the expertise of a Los Angeles-based specialist to secret code every single print that left the film laboratory.
