Sony’s recent DRM fiasco constituted a serious breach of customer trust by a high-caliber corporation, but is the half-hearted apology issued by the company enough? WIRED’s Dan Goodin doesn’t think so, calling instead for a boycott of the company’s products, as a means of setting an example.
"But according to Dan, that’s just not enough: Sony should be boycotted until they recall all affected CD’s and promise to never, ever do it again. I for one am all for it. Not that my CD collection features many acts from the company, but in principle I find it imperative that a company of Sony’s caliber be held accountable for such a catastrophic breach of customers’ trust. Which is why I’m bringing attention to the story, in my own small way – Dan, consider me signed."
