WinMX Online – network fix available



Ever since WinMX was sent a Cease and Desist Order, Zeropaid has taken on hundreds of throusands of new users exploring new P2P options. Vladd44.com has released a patch to allow primary or secondary connections for WinMX.

This host patch allows you to connect to WinMX as you once could.

1. Open My Computer

2. Open C drive<

3. A Windows 95/98/ME/XP Home, Open Windows. Win 95/98/ME users to step 7 But XP HOME Users step 4 B Windows NT/2000/XP Pro, Click and open Winnt Continue to Step 4.

4. Click and open system32

5. Click and open drivers

6. Click and open fold called etc

7. You will see a file named hosts. Rename it to Originalhosts as a backup.

8. Download the replacement file here

9. It is a Zipped file, you will need to extract the file and put it in the folder you already have open. Do not just put the zipped file in there, you need the hosts file to be the only you copy into the folder.

10. Restart WinMX. (Windows 95/98/ME users will need to actually reboot their computers)

11. Now Connect to Secondary or Primary connections (If Primaries please don’t share files)
