Napster is moving full speed ahead into the world of wireless through a newly signed deal with Ericsson. The companies are teaming to launch a Napster-branded mobile digital music service.

The companies are combining their music strengths, namely the Napster brand and services with Ericsson’s existing personalized music service. The service will support coordinated downloading of digital music between PC and a wireless device and will be offered in monthly subscription and a la carte formats.

Pricing has not been revealed as of yet, but the companies expect to unveil the service first in Europe during the next 12 months. Additional target markets include Asia, Latin America and North America.
