Torrent Meta-Search Engine

Under all the hubbub surrounding the new BitTorrent.com search engine and PirateBay’s new look, most have overlooked the fact that a new kid on the block has been growing in the underground. The site is Torrent Typhoon which boasts access to over 444,000 torrents. How? It searches all of the major Torrent web sites like TorrentSpy, ThePirateBay, and TorrentReactor. It doesn’t index the files, which means it’s always up-to-date at the expense of having a few seconds of wait time. It is a Torrent meta-search engine, and in my experience, very nice.

What’s even more amazing is the fact that a 17 year old designed and coded it. It seems to have been up since April 21st and it looks like Bram jumped on the bandwagon a bit late. TT was not the first meta-search engine (think ISOHunt) but it certainly is unique in that it is all updated in real-time.
