Austin Powers “Dismembered” by MPAA

In a SonicNet article hosted on Yahoo it described the up and coming movie “Austin Powers: Goldmember”. But all is not well in Hollywood as the movie has come under fire by certain legalities. According to MGM studios the title of the new Austin Powers movie “Goldmember” is an unauthorized parody of James Bond movie “Goldfinger” (released 1964). Upon notification of the problem the MPAA decided that New Line Cinema must remove the word “Goldmember” from the movie title due to the accusations of infringement of MGM’s trademark.

New Line Cinema plans to release the new Austin Powers movie July 26.
