The guys at P2PUnite.net have got a proposal to make. Don’t buy anything that is owned by a company represented by RIAA or MPAA (basically all music that is not owned by an independent record label, and all commercial movies). Also, they are proposing that we do not go and watch any of their movies at the cinema during that week. The main reason they are organising temporary boycott is to show them that the file sharers are customers too, and if they were to stop buying their products, there would be a real negative impact. It is a way to make them stop dreaming about how the sales figures would be if there was no P2P, and be aware of how the sales figures would be like if they manage to get all of us really annoyed.
I personally think this would be a cool thing to participate in, and the more the number of people that participate, the more impact this would have. So start telling all of your friends who like you are file-sharers, and if you have a site, put a banner to promote this protest or write an article about it. P2PUnite.net have a ready-made banner on their site, or you can make one yourself if you like). Let’s get this over with and show the entertainment industry we mean business!
