In its life span Zp has proudly brought you news and info from the p2p community, I am pleased to announce that once again we deliver with a new P2P Show by a Zeropaid Community Member to debut on Zp.

Zeropaid News has asked Rick the producer (mxpwx in the ZP community) a few questions on his new show.

Let’s Get Started!

1) There are many sites that focus on covering the P2P scene through written article, tell us how you hope to make an impact through Net Radio Broadcast.
That is very good point Bryan, I hope to make a very good impact with
the program and to raise awareness about p2p and technology related
issues from a file sharers point of view. Mainstream media today has
sold them selves out for few of those big corporate dollars, and are
more or less puppets of those dollars. I am not owned or sold to
anyone. The show does have advertisers however they are all involved
on the positive side of the p2p world. What you will hear is my heart
felt opinions and via the mailbag other peoples opinions.

2) Give some thoughts on where you think we are right now in terms of P2P rights,
do you see the P2P culture on the winning or losing side in terms of fair rights with our digital media?

Now is a very bleak time for p2p as it stands today.

Large corporations are shutting down the little guy with harsh quickness especially in the case of bit torrent trackers
Sharman/Kazaa is in my opinion close to losing the trials.

We will all need to wait to see how the MGM v. Grokster Streamcast cases pans out.
I would also watch out for Orrin Hatch, who is at the helm of the new
copyright committees in congress, he’s clearly an enemy of the file sharing community.

3) How long have you been a part of the culture? How did you get introduced?
I first started my P2P days on IRC servers then like most people I progressed to napster.
When napster closed I used the original gnutella(morpheus before it became fastrack) then I unfortunately used kazaa for awhile.

Now I’ve found ed2k and bit torrent coupled with Limewire Pro you can’t go wrong there.

4) Why do you feel our community is criminalized by big business?
Simply put they have the money to lobby and change laws, oh yeah and to some degree they own the copyrighted content.

I never understood how downloading a bunch of 0’s and 1’s constituted copyright infringement.

5) What programming can we expect to enjoy when you are live?
Right now the show will be recorded but when the move to ZP occurs we
will most likely set up a shoutcast server. The content is
news, stats, virus threats, the mailbag, and assorted interviews. I plan
to make it available 24/7 via streamer p2p which would I believe make
us the first to do that. Downloads can occur via direct http as well
as bit torrent and ed2k links. The plan is down the line to incorporate
a live call-in via skype, aim, yahoo and msn voice chat.

6) Will this be just a p2p radio show, are there plans to develop this into something more?
You never know what can happen with a show if it becomes popular. right now it will remain a p2p and technology only show, time to time I may through in some other news.

7) BT has seen a meteoric rise in popularity in the past two years bringing file sharing to the masses
in ways that IRC and Newsgroups never could,  there has been speculation that BT is reaching the end of it’s life cycle,
what do you think the p2p community needs in the next generation of clients?
I disagree about the end of the line for BT, however I would like to see more BT clients similar to eXeem but with out spy wear as the original protocol was intended. I look forward to see what Bram decides to do with BT in the future.

8) When can we expect the show to go live?
We have archives available right now and for the time being it will be one show a week uploaded to http on Fridays and available via streamer p2p 24/7 starting April 1.

9) Why did you choose the Zp community for housing your new program?
I’ve been a member here for ages and love the place. I am also good
friends with Chris he heard the show and thought I had a good voice.

10) Any words for the masses?
I’m naked!!!!!! No lol but come visit my forums to download the latest
show and contribute to the mailbag (there is also an audio mailbag
option as well) You can download the first two “pre ZP” episodes they
are kind of primitive.

Thanks for the cool info Rick, We all look forward to enjoying your contribution to the Zp community!
