Around a month ago, 10 servers hosting eDonkey2000 (ed2k) link sites were confiscated from an Austrian hosting centre.
The Austrian anti-piracy association (VAP) were acting in cooperation with the German organisation that deals with copyright matters (GVU), and the Motion Picture Association (MPA).
The admin of p2pworld reports on his site, that the provider has said that there’s a court decision ruling that linking to ed2k files is legal in Austria.
The VAP wouldn’t comment on the situation. Their website, which appears to be merely a sub-page of the website for an Austrian film industry union, no longer has any information published about the recent cases. Additionally, a with information regarding the case against the portals, is no longer accessible.
The first report, printed in German, can be found here on WinFuture.de.
