The RIAA mentioned when napster was shut down that the purchasing of CD’s went down when Napster was started. What was actually going on was that when Napster opened people were previewing songs and then if they liked them they would go out and buy the CD. The artists that made this music were becoming more popular everytime their music was downloaded. The new files sharing programs out work just like Napster. They connect to a server or multiple servers and you can download almost any song you would want. The problem is when the RIAA and MPAA shut down those servers that they files sharing programs connect to. P2p will definately be destroyed.
