ComputersAndJunk.com has stumbled onto a listing on Sedo.com which lists Lokitorrent.com for sale. When users, and even the moderators of their IRC channels, were told of the find, the result was total shock.
Lokitorrent is a BitTorrent tracking website which provides links to BitTorrent downloads. This site has become the biggest player in the torrent scene with the clsoing of Suprnova.org and as such has attracted the attention of the MPAA. With the lawsuits filed against it, Lokitorrent began to ask its users for help in the way of donations to its legal defence fund. These donations are still being collected even as the site sits with a for sale sign on it.
The sale will include the domain, the source for the site including forums, and also the complete user list.
This worries some that the MPAA may be able to purchase the site (which they would do if they were smart) and further their attempts in bringing lawsuits against users of BitTorrent.
