So called ‘Trackers’ offer the international community a method of retrieving torrents from multiple sources around the globe and are becoming a major piracy threat in the eyes of the IRAA, MPAA and many agencies alike.

But what is the difference between these ‘tracker’ sites such as Suprnova.org, now nonexistent and Google?

Personally I have been unable to find a difference between the two. The RIAA/MPAA has been so busy suing these ‘trackers’ and other file sharing networks that they have yet to realize that the major piracy threat lies right in front of them.

….. Google, the worlds #1 search engine, indexes over a billion sites and processes over a million search requests per day, many requests are in regards to illegal usage. These illegal search requests range from piracy to bomb making, why has Google been over looked time and time again? I cannot answer this question and I don’t think the majority of internet users can, surely the RIAA/MPAA cannot.

So, who is to say that file sharing networks and Bit Torrent ‘Trackers’ are the worst threat to intellectual properties?

When the worlds largest search engine is providing the same information that Torrent trackers and other network monitoring services are.

Comparison ::

A Bit Torrent Tracker distributes the locations of both legal & pirated media and software to the global community via a database and displays these results to users when search requests are received.

Google, other than providing research for book reports, distributes the locations of both legal & pirated media and software to the global community via a database and displays the results to users when search requests are received.

Why Google is a bigger threat?

Users can find MORE pirated materials via Google with their advanced search capabilities that many ‘tracker’ sites lack.

Google indexes a minimum of 10 times the amount of files that Torrent trackers and file sharing search engines index in their databases.

Google provides internet users with both file locations, information regarding where to locate pirated materials, information regarding the production of pirated materials, etc.

    Very good technical point, I think it can be used in the court.
