The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) just announced that it has become a financial sponsor of Tor, an open-source project to help people ‘engage in anonymous communication online.’ TOR is  like a simpler version of Freenet, e.g. ‘a network-within-a-network that protects communication from … traffic analysis.’Unlike Freenet TOR has access to the Internet  the source-code is freely available and binaries exist for Windows, Linux, etc

Azureus the Java Bittorent client has a guide how to set up TOR on its web page to help protect trackers and initial seeders this may help those worried about using Bittorent due to recent events regarding torrent indexing sites and may be of benefit to those running indexing sites to publish their web pages within the TOR network .
