Bearshare 2.4.0 Launches

Vinnie Falco just launched version 2.4.0 of Bearshare. After 15 beta versions, finally we get to see an official version again. The new version contains multisource downloading, a somewhat misleading term, because it used to be the old term for swarmed downloading. In Bearshare, it only removes the download from one host if another hosts resets. The new features summed up are

- Column settings are saved across launches
- Redesigned approach to file handling
- Improved XP compatibilty
- .rm and .jve files are recognized
- More robust cancel operations
- Better error handling with console output
- Improved accuracy of bandwidth and estimated download times
- Added “Progress” column in Downloads panel to provide more information about download status
