In a testament to forcing people to sign up to avoid adverts, receive Gmail invites or take part in iPod scams, Zeropaid has reached it’s 200,000th member.
Whatever the cynics say, today is a proud day for Zeropaid, for the 200,000 members mark has been passed.
The site was initially set up 4 years ago as a Gnutella site. Since then, it has transformed to cover all aspects of file sharing. The site provides the latest news, pseudo-freshly copy and pasted from every corner of the internet.
Jorge, ZP owner and administrator, said, “It has been a long road travelled over the past 4 years, we have reached more than 200,000 p2p users, we have affected millions of users around the world!”
BeatFactory, co-owner of Beatking.com, adds, “ZeroPaid.com is an amazing resource when it comes to P2P news and file sharing programs. Zeropaid has so many knowledgeable members out of the 200,000 that are very quick to help, no wonder it is the #1 place when it comes to file-sharing. Congratulations for hitting the 200,000 member mark and may you continue to prosper and grow.”
As with all forums, Zeropaid has had its fair share of politics over the years. Despite this, the ZP community has kept going. The forums are now a buzz of activity, containing vast quantities of knowledge, help for newbies, general chat and even a resident paedophile.
“The people here will try to help each other with everything from file sharing problems to computer software/hardware problems to how to dress your poodle. Maybe not that last one, but they are a fun bunch. If you look hard, you might even find a friend or two in the 200,000 members,” said long time poster Potato.
Evilmegaman, Zeropaid’s longest lasting moderator, adds, “It is an honor moderating at a great site with a great and helpful community. Everyone at this site has done a great job bringing it to life and encouraging people to sign up.”
CaRroL32 was clearly impressed with the membership.
“I just signed up, so I really don’t know,” she said.
Zeropaid has proudly taken the figurehead position in the P2P community, the site all others compare themselves to. And now, with this number of users, it is not only Google which places Zeropaid in the number 1 spot for file sharing.
“Zeropaid stands as the central point of p2p, and our users reflect our status in the industry,” Jorge told his own news site.
As P2P grows, develops and adapts, Zeropaid does so with it. So here’s to ZP and the members who make it what it is!
No matter how often you post in the forums, come and join us now in the celebration thread here.
