The LimeWire p2p application will soon support the ever popular Gnutella2 (G2) P2P network.
LimeWire released v4.0 just 2 weeks ago, already boosting Gnutella user numbers towards a 300,000 user mark, but in the coming weeks, LimeWire 4.1 is set to support the popular Gnutella2 P2P network, along with Morpheus, Shareaza, Gnucleus and others. This move by LimeWire will boost Gnutella2 user numbers dramatically, and will increase the amount of files available through the P2P application.
“Although we have put tremendous effort into Gnutella, we just think it isn’t giving our users what they want” said Greg Billson. “Gnutella2 is the future of P2P networks and we hope this move by us gives our users what they want”
LimeWire 4.1 will be released as a BETA on June 18th.
