Winny provides three key features, such as protect users privacy, better file transfer speed,
and increased accessibility of downloadable files.
And Its unique function are automatic download and “Clusternization”
What is “Clusterization”
“Clusterization” is the unique idea of Winny, and it has done in order to raise the ease of obtaining of a file.
The Winny users which exist in near in the network connect each other mutually.
Since there is no central server in Winny network, file information is not manageable unitary.
Winny has taken the method of collecting file information from surrounding users.
However, if the scale of a network becomes large, the exchange infomations with a long distance users will become difficult.
For solution of this problem,Winny will divide group of users who like same kind of files called “cluster”.

How to made cluster by Winny
First three keyword called “Cluster word” which make Cluster. Cluster word make clster by Winny system.
Cluster is group of users.It is organically created by the network,not by users.
Clusternization mechanizum is very complicate. I can’t understand everything. However I’ll explain very very simple.
User A set cluster words of “music” “mp3″ “album”
User B set no cluster words
User C set “TV” “avi” “mp3″
User D set same as User A
User A and D conect most easy and strong.
User C and A or D conect next easily.
User A and B,B and C C and D conect not easy and not strong.
Therefore If you need music files.If you set some music related words.
You can easily conecct other users who to your taste.
Compare with other major P2P file sharing softwares.
Protection of privacy for Winny user is not so perfect as Freenet. However Winny is the 2nd place in the field of privacy protection of users.No work can be performed only in Freenet. Freenet system is complicated and its CPU load is high But Winny is simple, CPU load is lower than freenet,and the transfer speed of a file is much higher than freenet.
Bittorent performs more transfer speed than Winny. But user’s privacy is open to the other person in the network. eDonkey may more easily be able to obtain target file than winny. However, the transmission speed of eDonkey is so late compared with Winny and no privacy protection.

“47″ who started developing Winny for research of new P2P file sharing technology two years ago. It was later released as free software.
The number of Winny users has grown drastically, from 0.5 million to 1 million in 2 years.
Since Winny was originally developed with a Japanese GUI, users are limitted in Japan now
Even Though the author had said to the users of his website, “Do not use Winny for illegal sharing of files,” many users took advantage of anonymity for their illegal activities.
The police arressted the author because officials believed he developed winny for illigal file sharing. The officials seized the source code as well as other inforamtion related to the development of WINNY. Therefore, people are no longer able to update WINNY.

How to use Patch and Winny
Extract Winny2b66_en01_patch_R4.zip,winny2b66.zip
Save in the same folder.
Run Winny2b66_en01_patch.exe
Now you can get patched Winny.exe and
Winny.OLD(backup)
And you neeed fresh noderef.txt
you can get it from here

Save(right click)Noderef.txt to the same folder of Winny.Winny decides on one port for file sharing, another one for BBS randomly.
To confirm those port numbers push “option” buttom and “connection” tab.
If you are befind NAT,You need open one TCP port for file sharing.

I am not recommend Winny for P2P newbie. Because It is quite different system from WinMX,Kazaa or Gnutella.
