Music Store Vagrancy

In the fast paced digital world new technology is always emerging, such of which are copy protected CD’s. Many people feel this technology is a threat and they much a right to feel so, let me bear witness a personal example. About a week ago I visited a local Crow’s Nest music store. At the checkout was a man who had just purchased a CD that would not play in his car stereo. The cashier claimed that because the CD was functional in one of the stores stock CD players that it was not considered a defective product and therefore was not permitted any form of refund. The customer then politely left as he entered, but 15 dollars poorer. It would be advisable that we all learn from this man’s misfortune. Before purchasing any CD, customers should inform themselves on the stores return policy for products of this nature. It would also be wise to speak with a manager, as employees are sometimes not fully knowledgeable on matters of this nature. If there is any doubt that you would be able to return a defective CD at the store, buy it somewhere else where you feel confident in their return policy. You could even research the CD online before you buy it at a website such as www.fatchucks.com to see if there are any bad things to look out for. You work hard for your money, fifteen dollars amounts to over 3 hours of cleaning toilets at Happy Burger. Don’t be the RIAA’s newest victim. Remember, “The Customer is Always Right”.
