Steganos Security Announces Secure File Sharing Program

Steganos GmbH, a leading provider of security and privacy software for consumers and small to medium-sized businesses, today announced the debut of Steganos Secure FileSharing 6 in the U.S. market. Designed for users of popular file-sharing programs like Kazaa and iMesh, the software enables users to directly download and encrypt in real-time up to 32 GB of music, film and images into a password-protected Media Safe.

Any peer-to-peer files that were downloaded previous to the software’s installation are automatically transferred to the safe. Without knowledge of the user’s password, no one can open the safe and access the downloaded files. As an added security measure, the software automatically searches for the user’s desired password within its built-in dictionary of more than 500,000 terms and warns the user if he or she has selected an unsafe one. The software’s 128-bit AES encryption is combined with Automatic Crash Protection to ensure that no data is left unencrypted, even during system crashes or power outages.

Founded in 1996, Steganos offers a complete portfolio of user-friendly security and privacy products, including encryption/steganography, Internet anonymity and trace destruction, and secure file-sharing software.
