RetSpan, the most famous organization against online piracy on P2P networks in France, has released an anti-piracy tool kit for companies or public structures. A kit that seems to be a world premiere.

They send for free (but there are shipping and handling costs) a complete kit including white papers, reports about online piracy and more than a dozen of various software that enable to watch or stop P2P applications or P2P networks (full or trial versions). Their kit also gathers some literature from Microsoft, from the BSA or from the IFPI (you may know that RIAA is the US subsidiary of IFPI).

The kit is available in French, but most of the software and reports from the kit are in English (most of it come from the US / UK). They also include a technical report giving a list of tips that can be used with a firewall in order to block a wide range of P2P protocols. This tool kit is an interesting stuff to own, even if you don’t want to stop P2P traffic. It’s always good to understand how those apps try to block P2P protocols.

Companies or organizations (or people) that are interested in such tool can order it on their web site (www.retspan.info). The web site is in French, but the process is quite simple : fill in a form with your address, validate and then print and send the result page to RetSpan. Payment of the 7.50 € fee can be made from abroad by credit card, Amex, etc. It works, I ordered it from Canada and there is no additional cost for international shipping.
