BadBlue 2.43 released

BadBlue version 2.43 – the new release of the popular file-sharing web server – is out. BadBlue is one of the easiest ways to run a web site on your PC and is specifically designed to make it easy to share photos, music, videos, as well as business documents.


New features includes:

  • Users get their own upload folders, with security automatically provided (see the upload help page for details); every user gets their own folder
  • Put your message on your BadBlue site, easily (place a welcome message, email address and URL on every page – see the Manage tab’s “Set Preferences” link)
  • Remote Administrator now has “super power” (if you create an RA user, they will have access to all folders, regardless of access control)
  • Automatically integrate Windows XP and Windows 2000 user accounts… you don’t have to create accounts manually if you decide to use Windows user accounts – see Windows security integration for details
  • Turn off “Live Views” of Office documents if you don’t use Office Sharing – see the Manage tab’s “Setup search tab” link for more information
  • New, improved security help pages (see the security help center for details)

    This version also supports instant photo-album views (with thumbnail JPGs) of folders; search by file-name, file-path and full-text search; an “invite friends to my PC” option; free domain-name support through dyndns.org; optional (and private) peer-to-peer searching with friends; password-protection of files; bandwidth throttling; partial downloads and many more features.
