Manolito P2P Network to Support All File Types

The Manolito Network (Blubster/Piolet/RocketItNet) is one of the last remaining P2P networks to restrict users to sharing music files only. There has been much debate in the community regarding the possibility of allowing the clients support all file types. Slyck can now reveal that the network will support the sharing of all file types.

Wayne Rosso, the new CEO of Omnisoft, told Slyck that the network “will be opening up to all files types”. The reason for no support in MP2P for all file types to date seems to be down to community opposition. Pablo has said that he can and would add support for all file types if the MP2P community wanted it. There is certainly a large element of the community that wants the network to stay music only. However, it is possible that the method of implementation may keep both sides happy.

Future versions of the MP2P clients will have some other exciting features. Wayne told us that the new versions will add universal connection, solving a longstanding vexing problem. MP2P have also been adding more encryption to the network making it “more anonymous”.

As the MP2P community knows new versions of the clients take time so don’t expect imminent support for all file types. Once this feature and other new features are implemented OptiSoft believes that they can start eating at FastTracks large market share.
