Ok, so we’ve all by now (I hope) read Slyck’s guide to newsgroups. Between that and xNews, you’ve pretty much got it covered. The only thing I got tired of was checking the newsgroups all the time to find what I wanted. So I tried a few of the free usenet indexing sites, but found them lacking in quality, reliability, and completeness. Then I found BinNews. This site indexes EVERYTHING on usenet, in a nice easy to use interface. You can create custom lists to watch the groups you want, or have the site monitor all of usenet for the particular file you are looking for. You can also set it up to monitor packetnews, vcdquality, and many other sites for releases. Check it out
