LimeWire Getting Things Done

This is an update (yes I know it’s 19 days old) from the Limewire.org site which basically gives there status on the Limewire client and it’s future features. I don’t particularly like ad/spyware, but you have to admit, Limewire’s structure is paying off. That’s the advantage of having a popular open source client. They are receiving patches and quickly getting things implemented. The next version of Limewire (1.9) is scheduled to have the following three important features: Supernodes, Swarmed downloads, and Metadata searches (this is supposed to be in version 1.8 already?). Anyways, it sounds like Limewire is planning on turning the Gnutella network into something very similar to the FastTrack network. It will be interesting to see what becomes of this network race. Open source Vs Proprietary. Will there be any reason to remain a part of the FastTrack/Kazaa/Morpheus/Grokster network? (-HeadHolio)
