Shareaza 1.8.9.9

The latest Shareaza beta is now available – 1.8.9.9


Major changes:

* Fixed all Windows 95/98/Me issues (freezes, etc)
* New download groups, easily organize downloads into manageable groups
* New download storage system using separate .sd files prevents unintentional download loss and allows downloads to be moved between PCs
* 64 bit download system supports files larger than 4 GB on G2 and BitTorrent
* Reorganized GUI for easier access to important features
* More proactive download acquisition
* Better performance with BitTorrent and eDonkey networks
* New BitTorrent tracker viewer to view statistics on trackers

Less major improvements and fixes:

* Loads of minor issues raised in forums have been fixed
* Smart MP3 preview eliminates bad audio in unfinished downloads
* Automatic preview mode selection for different file types
* New more graphical installer, thank you to all who contributed to this
* Fixed BitTorrent tracker response decoding with gzip, chunked encoding
* Launching multi-file torrents shows folder view
* Ensures there is always an available eDonkey upload queue
* Warning when trying to abort eDonkey uploads
* Fixed problem with uploads to software that doesn’t support X-Queue
* Moved profile bio to main content area of browse
* Changed name of lowest rating to “Fake”
* Won’t hash Kazaa .dat files
* Won’t lose library/hash info for unavailable network shares
* Hid hashing monitor popup for now
* Fixed hash option visibility for < 2 files
* Hardwired download filtering options for normal mode.
* Fixed some problems with the download preview dialog
* Removed network selection page in wizard for normal mode
* Downloaded metadata should save to the right folder now
* eDonkey global search limit was 201, but the GUI wrongly said 512
* Choked torrent downloads not counted as active now
* New eMule versions recognized properly
* Wizard allows exit on page one again
* Re-added search tab for those who like this feature
* Network selection controls all activities (connect, download, upload)
* More economical webcache usage
* Fixed searching for bit-rate ranges
* Some additional skinning features
* Built with a newer compiler (2003 instead of 1997), possibly some performance improvement there
