The Canadian music industry has lost $250-million, or 20 per cent of retail sales, over the past three years because of file-sharing. The RIAA said that over that time, the music industry worldwide has shrunk from a $40-billion (U.S.) business in 2000 to a $32-billion industry in 2002.
