28-May-2003 – Double XS Updates
XS Client has been updated and now features a quick-setup wizard, more icons, more chat commands and a few bug fixes.
XS has p2p filesharing features, CRC hashing, Chat, Private Messaging, Bandwidth Throttling, News/Forum Area, User Icons/Avatars and more.
XS is a client, which needs like Edonkey a server,
Each person can run a HUB-Chat-server,
The HUB-Servers are connected to ONE central TRACKER.
One person hold the key of all Hubs for all onlinenames.
So it is the same architecture like kazaa, or as Edonkey with a main-server.
The hash-link system will be updated in the next version to SHA1-hashing.
The new and main feature is that each Hub is a chatcommunity.
A good model for all other p2p-systems like G2 or ed2k.
Searching is only done in the Chatroom-Community.
So this Inhouse sahring is relatively safe and anonym.
Even the hub adminds can dicide about the leaves and members they admit.
Just give it a try, it is a new dimension of p2p-Chatrooms in decentral hubs, where sharing and searching is limited ot the hub.
In an extended Search you can search other connected hubs as well.
The weakness of the system is the MAIN-CENTRAL-TRACKER.
So just don´t think this architecture is the future, but the content of this COMMUNITY -SHARING has much charme to be implemented in other systems.
