Singles nearing Extinction?

Yahoo is running an interesting story on retail chain TARGET, and a decision they have put forward
to the RIAA to stop selling cd singles in 200 of its stores, due to a 39.5% drop in sales. Napster gets a
mention as one of the causes for this… :) the quality of the product also gets a bashing.
Now this is just me, but I thought NAPSTER stopped being a media BUZZ-WORD a long time ago, it’s
definately more to do with the Gnuttella and Fasttrack networks these days. But as for the SINGLE
becoming extict, I dont think stand alone music chains would even see that as an option, and rightly so
we need outlets to get music so we can rip it and share it.. right? read the full article HERE
