“Why buying CD’s hurts the musician and supports tyranny”
We have all read the articles about the music industry’s lies regarding the effect Napster (and all file sharing) was having on CD sales, but none of these articles have asked the question, “Why?” Why is the industry lying? What do they have to gain from shutting down file sharing services? Why are artists a willing party to this misinformation? What can we do about it? This manifesto details the lies and the reasons behind the lies, and provides an alternative for music lovers everywhere to support the music and the artists they love without supporting the industry.
“In the interest of freedom, this document may be freely distributed, published, sold, posted …” so pass it on.
I have a geocities link but it will probably get killed pretty fast, so if anyone has a mirror, post the link. It is also being shared on edonkey/overnet.
