BadBlue is an easy, free and tiny web server that can be used to share photos, music, business documents, databases and other media types. It is P2P-enabled so that users can establish private, secure sharing networks using optional password protection.

The free download of version 2.3 adds a variety of new features:

  • Full-text search support: find text within Word documents, Excel spreadsheets or other file types you designate; see http://badblue.com/helpsrc.htm for instructions and screen shots.
  • Free domain name support: through its support of DynDNS.org, BadBlue allows you to define your own domain name for your PC, even if you have a dynamic IP address. See the Dynamic DNS help page for details.
  • Path search support: if you have shared folders with useful names, for instance:
My musicBeach boysBe True to your school.mp3
    My musicBeach boysLittle deuce coupe.mp3
    My musicBeach boysSurfin USA.mp3
The appropriate files will now appear in search results whether you search for the actual file name or for the parent folder; searching for “Beach boys” will result in all of the above files showing up as search results.

  • Partial download support: download huge files in pieces or resume broken downloads using download managers like ‘GetRight’.
  • Adjust the search results page: you can now easily control the number of seconds between page redraws and how many times the page is redrawn; see the search setup page for instructions and screen shots.
  • HTTP/1.1 support: with built-in cache control for faster web serving
  • Customizable page not found (404) display: use the 404.htm file and customize the page-not-found error page.

Get the FREE DOWNLOAD now and get started on your own, easy-to-use web site!
