DICE is hybrid server to host IRC clients and opennap clients, on Windows 2000/XP. Users of the both protocol can talk to one another in channels and private messages.
DICE version 0.6 was released (04/03/2003)
What’s new:
+ Enabled binding to specific network interface
+ [IRC] Added RPL_ISUPPORT
+ [VD] Added shortcut for WinMX2/3 WantQueue scheme
It’s for Windows 2000/XP *ONLY* since it’s SERVER that requires stable OS to handle thousands of client connections. (i.e. it’s not a client like mIRC, not a servant such as Kazaa)
An online example is running at
irc.scenecritique.com:8888 (Connect with opennap client, such as WinMX/XNap/…)
irc.scenecritique.com:6667 (Connect with IRC client, such as mIRC/BitchX/…)
join some channel and try it from the both sides then you will get what one identical channel looks like from different interfaces, IRC and opennap.
(This particular place gives opennap search/browse only for those in channels, and you have to share 5GB & 500 files to join in channels)
