DICE is hybrid server to host IRC clients and opennap clients, on Windows 2000/XP.
DICE version 0.5 was released (03/24/2003)
What’s new:
+ Removed dependency on SSL and implemented new secure protocol for AdminShell
+ Setup procedure is greatly(!) simplified
+ Implemented server configuration panel in DICEAdminShell
It’s Windows 2000/XP *ONLY* since it’s server that requires stable OS (it’s not a client like mIRC, not a servant such as Kazaa, it’s SERVER to accept thousands of client connections. You have to set up relatively fast machine with enough memory chips to run this software).
An online example is running at
irc.scenecritique.com:8888 (Connect with opennap client, such as WinMX/XNap/…)
irc.scenecritique.com:6667 (Connect with IRC client, such as mIRC/BitchX/…)
join some channel and try it from the both sides then you will get what one identical channel looks like from different interfaces, IRC and opennap.
(This particular server gives opennap search/browse only for those in channels)
