A new version of PeerCast was released today. Peercast is software that allows one user with limited bandwidth to broadcast an Ogg Vorbis (or MP3) stream anonymously to many users via a Peer to Peer protocol. It’s good to see some updates coming out after a few months of apparent inactivity.
The latest version includes improvements in packet routing in order to improve the reliability and efficiency of the network. Also, you now have the ability to manually type in a new relay, instead of waiting for it to propogate to your list.
Peercast is available for Windows, Linux, or as a plugin for Winamp 2.
