Freenet 0.5.1 released

Freenet 0.5.1 has been released. Freenet is the “Alamo” of file-sharing apps – totally decentralized, 100% Open Source, and with complete anonymity for publishers and consumers of information. New features include the ability to reliably download files as large as 640MB at average speeds of up to 90k/sec on a broadband connection, this is over three times the average that can be expected from Kazaa. Already, music, TV shows, and movies are available on “freesites” (websites on Freenet) such as “Freenet Movies” and “Enterprise”. If you want to support Freenet development, their website is asking for donations to cover the costs of their full-time developer, Matthew Toseland.
