Locutus 0.4, the P2P app created by Ian Clarke, the creator of Freenet, has been released on the Locutus website, and now it incorporates P2P spam-fighting capabilities. From the site: “Locutus was designed to allow people to get to the information they want, now allows its users to get rid of the information they don’t want too!”. The software uses the same statistical document analysis techniques used to search for information to identify and remove spam. It is also collaborative, if it misses some spam you may report it, and the network as a whole will learn to regognise it and similar spam in the future. The user-interface has also been redesigned. At this time, Microsoft Outlook is supported, but other email clients will follow soon. As always, your feedback will be much appreciated.
