AVIPreview technology used in iOMedia Player

The maker of AVIPreview has agreed to join with InterMedia Organization to form the iOMedia Player. AVIPreview, for those who don’t know, was a program that allowed playback of partially downloaded .avi files from P2P programs such as KaZaA. Unfortunately, the iOmedia player requires a fee of $19.95 after its 15 day evaluation use. However, iOMedia Player has many features that AVIPreview lacked; to name just a few:

  • Index caching: dramatically increase index regeneration speed. You never have to re-index your partial download again.
  • Auto-Thumbnail videos: browse media folders with instant previews. Look and deal with pictures instead of hurting your eyes reading long filenames.
  • Pick snapshot for each video
  • Advanced video playback control
  • Fully remote controllable (using keyspan and/or keyboard)
  • Slow/fast playback
  • Use any zoom ratio
  • Remembers playback preferences (including stop time) for each video. Playback starts at the instant you finished during the last session.
