CXBX, the leading XBox emulator, has released its source code and opened the gates for any programmers who wish to help.
CXBX has covered a lot of ground: “CXBX can do some cool things, such as hijacking calls to xbox kernel functions, and even emulating a few of them. However, for the time being, the most usefull ability of CXBX is to convert from XBE to EXE, and from EXE to XBE.”
From the news section: “I have released the full Cxbx and Cxbe source code today.
:ext:anonymous@cvs.openxdk.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/openxdk
CVS Module: cxbx
I am not offering any support for this code at this time, if you are interested in becoming an active developer, please contact me. Please only contact me if you are experienced enough to contribute to the project.”
So what does this mean? Well, this means more programers will be able to help and speed up the process of having the XBOX emulator play Xbox roms. Hopefully, we will all be able to play XBox games on our PCs soon! So if you’re an emulator programmer and want to help the p2p community, this is your chance.
