CNN.com is featuring a interesting story on how Napster’s fingerprinting works and the whiz kid who created the technology. Napster purchased Ward’s fingerprint software to help satisfy a U.S. court order mandating that the company prohibit the free distribution of copyrighted material over its network. I’m curious to find out how much they paid for it!
