Between October 15 and the end of the year, XBox will include two free games with the purchase of a $199 XBox. The games are:”Sega GT 2002,” a racing game, and “Jet Set Radio Future”. Typically a new game for the XBox costs $49.95.
The reason behind this is to reach a wider consumer rate. Playstation, its competitors, have gained more sales than Xbox in the market. This is in part by the wider range of games available, along with other factors as well.
Usually, the consumption of electronics is the highest during the fourth quarter of the year. But, this year the growing fear of war, the economic downhill, and other such current events have caused the electronics market a weak fourth quarter.
So, Microsoft is seeking to boost its sale and move themselves out of this weak fourth quarter by attracting costumers. Will their strategy work, or will Playstation just continue to lead the market?
This will probably work a bit, but with Playstation’s new ability to record tv shows, which should be out fairly soon and which I have posted in another News article here in ZP, Playstation will most probably continue ahead.
